Please submit the names of those elders you identify as carrying the characteristics, qualities & skills of a congregational leader.
You can use the below as a rough guideline when considering those to put forward.
- Their families are flourishing – evidence of them leading the wives & children well.
- They are resilient, personable, pro-active & self-aware men who feel called to lead a congregation. They self-correct where necessary & exhibit clear up-front leadership skills & gifting. They are accessible both geographically & in terms of capacity – available for the saints as needs arise.
- They are led by the Spirit & able to discern, with assistance from oversight, the health of their teams, congregation & selves. They are obedient to the Spirit & flexible enough to change as the Lord leads.
- They are able to “conduct” their eldership teams, building away from themselves & playing each member in their best position – resolving any conflict, congregational & within the leadership, as it arises with the team.
- They are able to identify & feed the saints a balanced diet, recognising their gift-make up & supplementing the diet with others where necessary. They are able to recognise a deficiency in diet, supplementing with correct ‘food’ when required.
- They are like Timothy – of one heart, mind & vision with Andrew & the wider leadership team. They are able to remain in apostolic flow & apply the vision set for Joshua Generation Church by Andrew to their local congregation.
