Ok so now it's all done and dusted. The passports are stamped with the South African stamp. The luggage is packed away in the cupboard (or in my case - returned to its owners) and the Brazilian gifts probably all handed out. So now is as good a time as any to take a moment to look back at the trip and take stock. (No not the stock take like in factories - cause in that case I am missing a pink travel Bible but gained a Portuguese-English Bible). We need to take a look at what God did through this time. We need to look at the way forward, rise up to the challenges issued, deal with the areas God highlighted and build on the relationships formed. Wow! What an epic two weeks it was.
Epic indeed. Ok so it was: Two weeks, Two countries (SA and Brazil), Three cities (Sao Paulo, Peruibe, and Belo Horizonte - and Rio for a few), Five Josh Gen Congregations represented, six flights, 2 bus trips, four hours time difference, A bunch of Brazilian churches, Four translators (Juliet makes five), About twenty different willing tour guides, Eleven Gringos, Close to sixty pairs of Havaianas, a couple dozen pao de queijos, four pizza nights, about five separate times I got lost on foot around Sao Paulo, lots of meetings with elders and pastors, fourteen word and worship sessions, and... many salvations and healings. Hectic! Epic! Awesome!
This time was truly an key time in God. Our God is amazing and continues to astound me in all He does. Juliet said that it is amazing what God can do in such a short time. This is so true. It was amazing to see how God quickly knitted hearts together in order to accomplish His Will. Old relationships were built on, new relationships were formed and visions were united. God used this time to accomplish the impossible.
I know that all of us on the team were challenged throughout this trip. In Sao Paulo the Word was about embracing your destiny in God. In Belo Horizonte, the Word was focused on the senses: hearing, sight, touch, taste, and smell. Both topics encouraged all to take hold of what God has for you. It time to be counted for God. POR QUE NAO! (Portuguese for WHY NOT!)

It was such a privilege to have the opportunity to join the team on the trip. The team was a blessing as God used us to encourage and interact, and at the same time the team was truly blessed. Thank you to the generous families that hosted and fed us on the trip. Thank you to those who drove us around and played the part of our tour guides. Thank you to those back home who supported us financially. And thank you to those who kept us in Prayer. And finally, thank you to the elders at Joshua Generation for giving us the opportunity to go.
And so from Naomi (on behalf of the whole #BAMBrazil team)... It's a Wrap... for now at least.
Keep on Keeping on! Por Que Nao!
